Take care of your cables. The radio connector is not noted for ruggedness and reliability. It is possible for a plug to look like it is in, but be loose enough to stop the data. Read the manual. Read the Manual. READ THE MANUAL. Especially the part in the back that shows which radio features actually work. Pay particular attention to how to set the channel number and how to turn OMNI mode off.
